APU students, faculty, staff, and the extended community may borrow books, media, and other items available in the university libraries. Additionally, APU faculty members may place materials on course reserve materials for easy access by students.
APU alumni may borrow books from the APU libraries, access all online library databases when on campus, and may remotely access specific alumni databases.
An alumni ID card is required and may be obtained by contacting the Office of Alumni Engagement at (626) 812-3026 or alumni@apu.edu.
To borrow materials, alumni must also complete the APU Guest Library Patron Registration form, available at the Circulation Desk at any of the APU libraries, and present it with a photo ID and alumni card/verification.
The university welcomes patrons not affiliated with APU to use the APU libraries’ resources. Although we try to accommodate all library patrons, APU students, faculty and staff do have priority over Courtesy Patrons in the use of library facilities and services.
Community residents are eligible to pay $20 per year for the privilege of using the internet or $100 per year for internet use and book check-out privileges. This fee is waived for clergy, and libraries that have reciprocal or consortial relationships with APU.
To borrow materials, visitors must complete the APU Guest Library Patron Registration form, available at the Circulation Desk at the Stamps, Marshburn, and Darling libraries, and present it with a photo ID inorder to recieve. Clergy must present a business card or proof of their ordination/church employment. SCATLA members must present the card issued by their school. SCELC members must present the form issued by their school.
Upon approval, visitors must present a photo ID and a valid Courtesy Patron card when checking out material (maximum five items per visit). The loan period for most items is three weeks. Reserve materials may not be checked out by visitors. Visitors are also not eligible to make use of interlibrary loan or document delivery services.
Courtesy Patrons do not have access to online library account functions, nor do they have remote access to online databases & electronic resources. Databases & electronic resources may be used when visiting the libraries in person.
APU regional campus and online, and off-campus students, faculty, and staff hold the same privileges and responsibilities as Azusa campus patrons, but their materials will be mailed (books, media, and kits) or emailed (articles) from the Azusa campus libraries. Mailing is free of charge, and prepaid return envelopes are included. Books and media may be requested by selecting "By Mail" as the pickup location when a request is being made from the library catalog or ILL forms.
