OpenAthens

  • OpenAthens is an identity and IP-based authentication system that provides access to the library's licensed online resources via single sign-on (SSO) technology. It is replacing our previous system, Web Authentication Management (WAM). OpenAthens offers a more secure and reliable experience for APU library patrons and should resolve the "proxy error" access issue many users have been experiencing.
  • OpenAthens will also provide a "Where Are You From" prompt so that both APU and LAPU patrons will be able to access our resources from the same starting point.
  • There are a number of our resources that are "OpenAthens" aware - so you as a patron can begin your search from within that vendor's home page and use their internal login link to select the APU/LAPU organization from their drop-down list.
  • Users will only need to authenticate to OpenAthens once per session. An OpenAthens session stays active for up to 8 hours, unless you clear you browser cache and cookies. The authentication process will differ based on whether resources are accessed via library websites or directly from a content provider website.

Choose how to sign in

If you are an APU user, click the “Log in with your APU account” option from the menu below. You will be taken to the APU Account login prompt.

 

Find your organization

If you see this page, choose on the right side and type Azusa for finding your organization. Then you will be prompted to the Login page.
